A well-established and family-owned facility in Northeast Ohio has an immediate opening for a Certified Orthotist or Certified Prosthetist Orthotist. We have an onsite fully operational fabrication facility with highly trained technicians. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be eligible for Ohio state licensure. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and include salary, health benefits, holiday, vacation, and personal time.Job Description: The role of the orthotist and prosthetist encompasses clinical assessment, patient management, technical implementation, practice management, and professional responsibility.Job Duties:

  • Confer with physicians to formulate specifications and prescriptions for orthotic and/or prosthetic devices.
  • Design orthopedic and prosthetic devices based on physicians' prescriptions, examinations, and measurements of patients.
  • Examine, interview, measure/cast patients to determine needs and identify factors affecting device fit.
  • Make and modify plaster casts or supervise technicians for areas to be fitted with orthosis or prosthesis.
  • Select materials and components based on device design.
  • Train and supervise orthotic and prosthetic assistants, technicians, and support staff.
  • Construct and fabricate devices or supervise others in their construction.
  • Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients, making adjustments for fit, function, and comfort.
  • Provide guidance to technicians responsible for device fabrication.
  • Instruct patients on the care of orthoses and prostheses.
  • Repair, rebuild, and modify prosthetic and orthotic devices.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient care and service records.
  • Demonstrate and explain devices to healthcare professionals.
  • Research new methods for constructing and using orthotic and prosthetic devices.
  • Update skills through online courses, conferences, and seminars.
