Welder Job Location: Cleveland, OH Job Type: Full-Time Status:
Non-Exempt Summary of the Role The Function of the Welder is to
prep and weld steel, aluminum and stainless-steel parts using a TIG
process as instructed by supervisors. This position also maintains
a safe working environment and good housekeeping conditions.
Responsibilities Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies
and procedures. Help create a safety culture and actively engage
the workforce in projects that will help reach our journey to zero
incidents Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using
a Welding Procedure Specification Read and interpret blueprints
and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements TIG
weld steel, aluminum and stainless-steel components based on the
specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings Ensure work is
done safely and meets quality standards. Follow, create and help
maintain Welding Procedure Specifications Set up welding cells for
serial production runs Operate machinery used in the production
process, or assist machine operators Keep work areas clean and
organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given
task. Follow all safety rules and quality standards Work with team
members to maximize productivity and efficiency Other duties deemed
necessary by management. Skills and Abilities Possess excellent
customer service skills Ability to interact with customers and
team-members in a professional manner Ability to work independently
and prioritize responsibilities Must have excellent communication
skills, both oral and written Requires proficiency in math skills
including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in
units of measure Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel,
internet and email Strong mechanical maintenance experience and
strong knowledge hand and power tools Experience with steel,
aluminum and/or stainless steel required Experience with TIG
welding a must Knowledge of raw materials, production processes,
quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the
effective manufacture and distribution of goods Ability to identify
and measure material Ability to produce quality products
consistently Minimum Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or
older High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft
apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and
production maintenance experience One year of TIG welding
experience Must be able to pass TIG welding test within six weeks
Reliable transportation is a must Ability to see in color Ability
to work overtime, as required Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend,
lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently on a repeated basis
Ability to consistently move throughout the facility during the
full workday Ability to comprehend work procedure and safety
instructions, written or verbally Must have a mechanical aptitude
and the ability to learn about how our products are produced on
equipment Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Basic math skills to calculate dimensions and inventory Preferred
Qualifications Experience working in an industrial setting 2+ years
of manufacturing experience Requires excellent verbal and written
communications skills The ability to read and comprehend blueprints
The ability to interact effectively with all employees Solid
background working with metal Knowledge of tooling and tool
maintenance Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal
conversion skills Ability to distinguish material types including
Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper, and Brass. Requires
ability to organize and prioritize workload and be able to interact
effectively with all types of people in a dynamic and fast-paced
