Quality Documentation Coordinator

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for one Quality Documentation Coordinatorat our Dearborn Works operation, supporting our Hot Dipped Galvanizing Line (HDGL).This position reports to the Technology Manager of the HDGL with dotted line responsibility to the Section Manager Quality.This position may require occasional work on weekends and/or off shifts.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain compliance to the Document Control Requirements.Including scheduling periodic review of documents, ensuring that necessary revisions are made and approved, sending revised documents out for review.Maintain master copies of documents and ensure that any posted documents are controlled.
  • Oversee and maintain compliance to the Control of Records requirements including periodic auditing.
  • Assist with meeting requirements to the Correction Action system.Work with the department to ensure that corrective actions are completed on-time and that all required evidence of completion is entered into the system.
  • Oversee compliance to the training program including tracking, auditing and distribution of training documentation and records for existing, new and/or transfer employees in the department.
  • Monitor and communicate the status of department monitoring, measuring and test equipment.This includes the status of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and GRR.
  • Maintain required gage records and requirements as defined by the calibration program.
  • Assist with managing and facilitating department meeting which drive quarterly reviews and revisions of department Core Documents (Control Plan, FMEA, SWOT, etc.)
  • Assist Maintenance to maintain compliance to defined quality requirements of the maintenance program.Including document control, monitoring and retention of records, required audits and inspections, etc.
  • Perform, assist with, monitor and communicate routine departmental and/or quality audits (i.e., process audits, product, dock, training, other)
  • Be willing to participate as an internal auditor for QMS audits.
  • Prepare for and participate in various internal and 3rd party audits.
  • Monitor and assist with maintenance of continual improvement projects and required documentation.
  • Report out to management on the status of quality management system activities within the department.
  • Issue plantwide/departmental quality related information as required
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Perform all of the above for Environmental where required by management
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • 2 years of quality systems experience in lieu of a degree.
    • Understanding of automotive quality system requirements.
    • Experience in internal auditing.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
      Preferred Qualifications:
      • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field
