Job Description:
Today, Battery Management System Department in Electrified
System Engineering organization is exploring and delivering ways to
make electrified vehicles more efficient to improve people's lives
by helping them move more freely, safely and enjoyably. We have
identified expanding core competency in Function Safety (FuSa) to
maintain leadership in advanced battery management systems.
Electrified System Engineering is currently adding and innovating
numerous design features with significant functional Safety impact
and is seeking dedicated and highly motivated engineers to support,
track status and review the FuSa analysis for all new technology
features.
What you'll be able to do:
We are looking for you to play a leading role in the design and
development of sophisticated products and services for these
electrified vehicle owners. You will:
Support supplier design review and research on battery management
system design and control of electrified vehicle
Lead battery management system quality documents and functional
safety documents development and review
Work with feature owners and functional safety engineer to perform
system safety & functional safety analyses on systems for the
development of Functional Safety Concepts, Technical Safety
Concepts, Functional Safety Requirements and Technical Safety
Requirements.
Perform Hazard and Risk Analysis and derive Safety Goals for
battery management modules
Derive detailed Functional Safety Requirements (FSRs) and Technical
Safety Requirements (TSRs)
Capture FSRs and TSRs in SysML models and the VSEM system
Develop DVMs with proper traceability to the FuSa requirements
Lead FuSa design confirmation analysis (e.g. DFMEA, Fault Tree
Analysis, ---) at module level and at integrated System level
Responsible for tracking timely delivery of the FuSa related
artifacts in the GTDS Technology Integrator and GPDS Integrator
Work with multi-functional teams and utilize system engineering
concept to optimize and deliver sophisticated system solutions
The minimum requirements we seek:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, or related engineering field.
3+ years of experience is Electrical / Electronic system design and
development.
1+ years of previous work experience with Safety Analysis
Techniques (examples: FMEA, FTA, HARA, HAZOP, STPA).
1+ years of previous work experience in applying Functional Safety
in accordance with ISO 26262 or equivalent safety standard from
non-automotive industries.
Our preferred qualifications:
Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related
field.
5+ years of experience is Electrical / Electronic system design and
development.
3+ years of previous work experience with Safety Analysis
Techniques (examples: FMEA, FTA, HARA, HAZOP, STPA).
3+ years of previous work experience in applying Functional Safety
in accordance with ISO 26262 or equivalent safety standard from
non-automotive industries.
1+ years of experience with system's modeling and analysis
Creation of Boundary Diagrams, P-Diagrams, Interface Matrix
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink
Familiar with SysML
Experience in developing systems requirements, including for
testing or validation
Passion for developing and maintaining a safety culture
Experience in real-time online verification of systems and
functional safety requirements.
