Job Description:
OEM is seeking to hire a candidate with electronic module
hardware and software design experience. The candidate will be
responsible for the development of electronic modules that control

- Power tailgate and power liftgate
- Trunk compartments including rear and front
- Window control, mirror movement
- Seat movement, interfaces to driver assisted technologies, and
seat memory control
- Primary responsibilities for all hardware attributes and
software control:
- Lead development/update of requirements, subsystem functional
test procedures, and design and production verification plans
- Lead cross functional system analysis to determine best
solution for electronics module drive and motor type and
technology
- Lead selection of ECU's for the electrical architecture and
feature partitioning, and assure compliance to all cascaded
requirements
- Lead tradeoff analysis of vehicle features to meet cost,
weight, quality, HMI and energy management targets
- Lead hardware design development and support software model
development
- Lead development of perfect drawing plan in support of GPDS
timing
- Lead failure mode analysis, DFMEA subsystem development and
support component DFMEA
- Lead compatibility reviews to verify module and wiring
interfaces
- Lead hardware and software technical design reviews at
engineering milestones and with suppliers
- Lead resolution of vehicle level prototype functional or
manufacturing issues that affect module design and control
- Also responsible improving customer satisfaction as quality
lead:
- Define and develop quality improvement actions based on
analysis of TGW and warranty data, campaign prevent reviews,
customer clinics
- Lead investigations of Cloud data reports
- Lead cross functional engineering teams to implement corrective
actions
- Perform benchmarking to determine BIC quality and function of
competitive vehicle systems Skills Required:
- Project management experience with engineering teams
- Understanding of electronic module hardware and software
design. Experience Required:
- 2+ years experience in automotive OEM electronic control module
design Experience Preferred:
- Experience as a D&R Engineer in all product lifecycle
areas: concept design; Failure Mode Analysis; hardware and software
technical design reviews; hardware packaging; DVP&R; PPAP;
launch.
- Automotive design experience including electronic control
modules and packaging.
- Experience/training in Functional Safety Management
(ISO26262)
- Experience in drafting or reviewing engineering functional
specifications.
- Experience in using electrical system related diagnostic tools
and equipment. Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering,
Computer Science or related field of study, or equivalent
