Claim Technical Consultant - ( 210000LR )**Description**The Auto Club Group (ACG) provides membership, travel, insurance and financial services offerings to approximately 9 million members and customers across 11 states and 2 U.S. territories through the AAA, Meemic and Fremont brands. ACG belongs to the national AAA federation and is the second largest AAA club in North America.**Primary Duties and Responsibilities:**Depending on the assigned area within the Claims department, serve as department subject matter/technology expert regarding the CCC (APD), Mitchell Decision Point (PIP/Casualty), Xactware (Home) or Fast Accessible Claims Technology System ("FACTS") systems. Design, develop and maintain various databases using the appropriate tools (e.g. Microsoft Access, (SQL) Structured Query Language, Saros, Case Management, etc.). Ensure modules are structured, meet functional and technical requirements, and adhere to IS standards. Participate in the development, documentation, maintenance and implementation of business plans, departmental policies, procedures and quality standards as it relates to operating assigned systems. Complete process flows for business and system functions. Complete complex analyses for senior management in a timely manner and represent assigned area on departmental and corporate projects.Complete User Acceptance Testing for all major releases to include: development of test cases, scheduling, facilitation, pilot training, defect identification, reporting and retesting resolutions. Conduct production validation for system releases. Participate in business readiness activities, including demonstrations of system functionality to Line of Business. Coordinate the configuration, installation and testing of hardware and software. Monitor production applications and control access to corporate data to maintain data security and integrity.Function as the liaison between the business unit, vendor and information systems regarding maintenance, business technology issues, operational problems, IS standards and policies and procedures in order to support business unit strategic and operational goals and objectives. Participate in joint application development ("JAD") sessions with IT as needed to develop, review, test and approve business requirements and functional specifications.Serve as the highest level for analysis of system defects within business unit. Investigate and analyze complex technical problems, identify defects and determine resolution. Design and test solutions in batch, on-line programs and various system environments.Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team staff to ensure the development of innovative and effective recommendations when necessary. Oversee technical and non-technical employees in the design and implementation of business unit specific systems. Provide consultative services from a business technology perspective for the department staff and external clients. Develop and facilitate training and learning activities to prepare department staff for working within assigned systems.Assist management with the coordination of a wide variety of projects and strategic initiatives aimed at: increasing processing efficiencies, identifying issues, resolving problems and implementing process improvements. Prepare ad hoc reports and analyzes as needed.**Preferred Qualifications:**Education:+ Master Degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field+ Completion of IIA (Insurance Institute of America, CPCU or other insurance coursework**Work Environment**Work in a temperature-controlled office environment. Willingness and ability to work irregular hour's weekend and holidays. Travel will vary based on line of business (may be up to 80% of the work time) is required with exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes.**Qualifications****Required Qualifications:**Education:+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance or a related field or equivalent work experience in related fieldExperience:Experience in/with:+ Handling claims in a specific unit+ Analyzing, testing, documenting, implementing and/or deployment of complex business systems and programs+ Organizing, controlling, monitoring and reporting projects including providing work direction and guidance+ Analyzing information flow+ Designing business unit specific systems+ Planning, organizing and training others on the development and implementation/deployment of technical or new application projects+ Analyzing and solving problems+ Developing security controls that may include disaster recovery plans for automated systems+ Investigating and resolving production problems+ Using operating systems (Windows, Netware, IPM, NT; and client/server database management systems)+ Coordinating support activities provided by multiple off-site vendors and internal departments+ Data base administration including programming queries against relational data bases and hierarchical data base unload files (e.g. IMS)+ Utilizing PC software applications (e.g., Windows operating systems, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, VISIO, MS Project, Netware, IPM, NT, client/server database management systems, etc.) to format data bases, write queries, generate reports, etc.+ Structured system analysis, design and testing+ Systems development methodologiesKnowledge and Skills:Knowledge of:+ Essential Insurance Act+ Fair Trade Practice Act as it relates to claims+ One of the following business line specific claims software:APD: CCC/Territory Identification System/Vendor Locator All RegionsPIP: Mitchell Decision PointHome: Xactware/EnservioHome/Auto: FACTS+ Claims quality standards for the specific business line+ Current claim operations and handling procedures for the specific business line+ Claims terminology and processing systems including but not limited to FACTS, CPS, IPM, Footprints+ Subrogation procedures+ Project management tools (e.g. issues log, risk assessment, project plans, etc.)+ Measurement tools for monitoring goal achievement+ Problem identification and resolution techniques+ Techniques used to develop reports as needed by line leadersAbility to:+ Train or arrange training for claim representatives of varying levels of expertise+ Planning, organizing and training others on the development and implementation of enhancements to business unit specific systems+ Manage license and transaction costs with Vendor Management and Procurement+ Analyze potential new products and vendors+ Analyze and summarize data+ Prepare adhoc reports+ Plan and control software updates+ Develop change management plans when new vendors are chosen+ Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills to include preparation proposals, reports and technical writing (A writing sample may be required at time of interview)+ Prepare and present recommendations to all levels of management+ Work in a team environment+ Research, identify and resolve business and technical problems+ Research and analyze industry benchmarks and make recommendations+ Analyze and define resource and skill requirements for projects+ Work well under pressure+ Evaluating complex systems and their interdependencies+ Troubleshoot user problems+ Plan hardware and software upgrades and improvements to systemThe Auto Club Group offers a competitive compensation and benefits packages including a base salary with performance based incentives; medical/dental/vision insurance,401(k), generous time off, a complimentary AAA Membership and much more!**Important Note:** The above statements describe the principal and essential functions, but not all functions that may be inherent in the job.
