Job Description:

A Neonatologist locum tenens opportunity is available at a Level III NICU facility, to support coverage following a provider resignation. The role involves in-house night coverage in a moderately busy NICU with a collaborative team and consistent patient volume. This is an urgent need with temps approved and ongoing shift availability.

• Shift Hours: 7 PM 7 AM (in-house call)
• Open Dates:
  • May: 5/10, 5/24, 5/26
  • June: 6/2, 6/4, 6/7, 6/17, 6/23, 6/25, 6/26, 6/27
• Ongoing coverage needed beyond June
• Credentialing: days (temps approved for faster start)

• Provide care in a 15-bed Level III NICU
• Average:
  • 0 4 admissions per day
  • 12 patients per day
• Responsibilities include:
  • Attending C-sections
  • Managing NICU patients
  • Coordinating and performing neonatal transfers
• No responsibility for Level I (well-baby) nursery coverage
• Work alongside a team of:
  • 3 full-time, 2 part-time, and 4 contingent neonatologists
• EMR: Cerner (Ecare/PowerChart)

• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Neonatology
• Neonatology fellowship-trained (required)
• Active Michigan medical license (in hand)
• Certifications:
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • ACLS
• Must have recent (within 6 months) Level III or IV NICU experience
• Clean background and NPDB self-query (within 30 days) required
• Must be willing to:
  • Attend C-sections
  • Manage critically ill neonates
  • Perform neonatal transfers
• Local providers preferred (mileage reimbursement only)
