Job Title: Interventional Technologist Profession: Imaging

Required Associate's Degree or equivalent in cardiovascular
technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist
training and/or education. Certifications: BLS, JRCERT, ARRT, ACLS
Must-Have: 2 years of relevant experience in EP, Cath Lab or IR
Description: Under general supervision, the Special Procedure Tech
provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing
Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and deliver
quality patient/family centered care. The incumbent may be required
to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate
equipment, document procedures, manage vascular access sites, and
provide patient/family education. Monitor patients undergoing
routine invasive and interventional procedures. Provide
intra-procedural technical support and quality patient/family
centered care. May be required to perform and record
hemodynamic/physiologic wave forms and calculations. Communicate
effectively with co-workers, physicians, patients, families, and
all ancillary departments while consistently demonstrating high
standards. Perform quality assurance checks on technical equipment
and department skills validations. Maintain radiation safety
standards for staff and patients in compliance with safety
regulations. May be required to take on call as per department
schedule. Special Procedure Techs must be able to first assist
physicians using sterile technique and fully participate in 3D
imaging, vascular, and cerebral cases. If performed, Cath Lab
Special Procedure Techs must be able to utilize advanced
technologies. EP Lab Special Procedure Techs must be able to
utilize advanced imaging technologies, participate in device
implants, and circulate in all other EP cases. Physical demands
include lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling weights up to 20
lbs on occasion. Frequent activities include reaching above
shoulder level, handling, and finger/hand dexterity. Forward
bending is occasional while standing and sitting. Client is

platforms, and it is crucial to educate and train staff on this
process.
