Job Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY:As a member of the leadership team responsible
to promote the profession and services of Physical, Occupational,
and Speech therapy. Assists in program development and
implementation of services that promote quality and efficient care.
Accountable for budgetary goals, quality, clinical outcomes, and
operational performance. Promote staff education and research.
Directs personnel to perform high quality of care. Provides
leadership and assistance to staff in the development and
implementation of new programs. The supervisors maintain daily
monitoring of the clinic operations. Collaborates with the Manager
in the short and long-range planning of the department of Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation. Reports to the Manager, Physical
Medicine Rehabilitation.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:1. Provides patient care
up to 75% of the average work week. Evaluates, treats, and
documents patient treatment. Provides assistance in the
interpretation & execution of medical orders as necessary.2.
Supervises daily operation for the clinic. Monitors staffing needs,
the schedule, referrals, staff and productivity.3. Monitors,
develops and mentors staff in competency and clinical performance.
Organizes peer reviews and monitors the clinic quality improvement
process.4. Does the hiring, counseling and corrective action of
staff. Responsible for the orientation, training and evaluation of
staff performance.5. Follows and implements department and hospital
policies.6. Represents the department, participates in hospitals
committees and special projects.7. Exhibits customer service
behavior in accordance with our Mission and Vision.8. Demonstrates
knowledge of growth/development/dynamic behavior of various age
group populations and is able to perform assessments/treatments
appropriately.9. Recommends scope of clinical services provided
which are consistent with current rehabilitation practice, patient,
physician and community needs.10. Ensures compliance with 3rd party
payer requirements.11. Identifies, develops and implements new and
updated programs.12. Monitors departmental statistics. Assists in
the development of departmental objectives including the specifics
for meeting those objectives.This document represents the major

to perform the essential duties.A. Education / Training: - Must
possess a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate Degree in Physical
Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy from an accredited
college or university physical, occupational or speech therapy
program.B. Work Experience: - Must have a minimum of 5 years
clinical experience with demonstrated excellence in provision of
Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy services including one
year of supervisor experience. - Must exhibit strength as a mentor
of staff with a willingness to share clinical information. - Strong
customer service skills are essential, as are time management and
organizational skills. - Problem solving ability, sensitivity,
initiative, conflict resolution skills are essential. - Marketing
experience desired - Word and Excel knowledge desired.C.
Certification, Licensure, Registration: - Licensed in State of
Michigan as Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech
Therapist - Certification by a national organization or trade
association preferred.D. Other Qualifications: - Competent clinical
and evaluation skills are required. Additional skills required to
perform this job include: managerial and supervisory skills;
writing, oral, computer, and strong interpersonal skills.WORKING
CONDITIONS:A. Physical Effort: - Standing/moving while performing
duties - Assisting patients with standing, walking, therapeutic
procedures, etc; - Balancing, transferring patients - Sitting -
Reaching to access equipment or assist patients - Fine motor skills
(to perform therapeutic procedures, operate equipment) - Motor
skills to lift - Lifting/Positioning patients for procedures -
Pushing/Pulling patients in wheelchairs, carts, equipment -
Lifting/pushing/pulling while standing - Manual dexterity - Visual
Demands: Near vision to operate equipment as well as decipher
notes, orders; depth perception, fine discriminate detail to read
monitors/graphs, labels, reports - Acuity/Auditory Demands:
distinguish sounds to respond to patients, staff, equipment,
instrumentation, hear speech - Sensory demands: distinguish hot and
cold, manual dexterity - Verbal Demands: make sounds to verbally
communicate with patients or staff what is required, form words,
speak loudly, speak softlyB. Work Environment: - Primarily
functions in an office environment, hospital environment or therapy
clinic environment. Occasionally in pool environment, occasionally
