Medical Billing Specialist - Nephrology About usHypertension Nephrology Associates, PC is an independent medical practice serving the Detroit metropolitan area. For more than 40 years, the group has been providing specialized medical management of acute and chronic kidney disease, hypertension, dialysis, and post renal transplantation. **************NO RELOCATION WITH THIS POSITION*******************Position Responsibilities: Process eligibility accurately to ensure clean claim submissionProvide internal customer service to departments within the companyCreate, review and submit claims accurately and efficientlyIdentify and resolve claim edits and understand billing guidelines and payer requirements.Proactively fix claim rejection errors and resubmit claims based on payer requirements and create and submit appeals when necessary.Initiate contact and respond to inquiries from various external sources.Comply with all government and third-party payers' regulatory mandated requirements for billing and collections.Answer questions and assist patients in regards to billing issues as needed.Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all information under HIPAA guidelines.Meet productivity and quality standards in the timeframe given upon completion of training.Skills: Pre-employment testing REQUIRED - Coding, billing, accounts receivable, compliance, government payer knowledge including outpatient VA, Medicare B, and Advantage Plans, Michigan Medicaid receivablesQualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required.
