Automation Engineer – Support Location: Oberlin, Ohio Full-Time
Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000 per year About AdeptAg AdeptAg LLC

continuously improving. The Role The Automation Engineer – Support
is a critical engineering role responsible for enabling sales
success, driving continuous improvement initiatives, executing
corrective engineering actions, and delivering sustainable and
adaptive automation solutions. This position serves as the
technical bridge between Sales, Service, and Engineering, ensuring
customer needs are translated into practical, supportable, and
scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities Sales Support • Provide
expert technical guidance to Sales during customer engagements •
Help define automation solutions aligned with customer applications
and sales strategy • Develop and deliver technical training
programs and materials for Sales teams • Provide ongoing technical
coaching to ensure accurate system positioning • Support
preparation and execution of equipment demonstrations at trade
shows and customer sites • Contribute to development of sales
documentation including specifications, application guides, and
technical comparison materials Continuous Improvement • Collect and
analyze field performance data and customer feedback • Identify
product and process improvement opportunities • Collaborate with
Engineering and Production teams to implement manufacturing and
testing enhancements • Maintain and improve technical
documentation, assembly procedures, and service manuals Corrective
Engineering • Investigate technical issues reported from the field
• Develop corrective actions and engineering change orders as
required • Conduct thorough root cause analysis to prevent issue
recurrence • Collaborate closely with the Service team to ensure
practical, supportable solutions • Translate field issues into
structured engineering improvements Sustainable and Adaptive
Engineering • Modify and adapt existing automation systems to meet
unique customer requirements • Validate system performance using
customer-supplied materials when necessary • Oversee production and
assembly of customized systems to ensure design integrity • Develop
and lead structured training programs for Service Technicians •
Provide guidance on installation, preventative maintenance, and
troubleshooting practices Education and Experience • Associate
degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation
Technology, Mechatronics, or related field • Equivalent technical
certifications or relevant industry experience will be considered •
Minimum 2 years of experience in automation engineering, technical
sales support, or applications engineering • Experience with IEC
61131-3 programming standards preferred • Experience with CODESYS
development environment preferred • Background in greenhouse,
agriculture, or controlled environment systems is an asset • Valid
driver’s license required • Valid passport and ability to travel
across the Canada–U.S. border required • Occasional travel
(estimated 10–20%) to customer sites, trade shows, or company
locations Technical Skills and Competencies • Strong understanding
of industrial automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and
motor controls • Proficiency in reading and creating electrical
schematics and technical drawings • Strong analytical and
systematic problem-solving skills • Ability to conduct structured
root cause analysis • Experience with customer-facing technical
consultation and support • Strong written and verbal communication
skills • Ability to translate complex technical information for
diverse audiences • Strong organizational skills and ability to
manage multiple deliverables • Collaborative mindset with
cross-functional team coordination • Ability to work independently
