Job Description:

LER TechForce is looking for a Power Electronics Engineer to work in Dearborn Michigan. This role does require the person to be onsite. The ideal candiidate will have 3-4 years of electronic design and power electronics experience. Sponsorship is allowed for this role.

The Power Electronics Hardware Engineer who will bring innovative ideas to advance the product lines in high-speed chargers, energy storage systems, and charging infrastructures. The responsibilities would also include designing and developing prototypes, design reviews, functions verification, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, hardware testing, and benchmarking. Additional responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:


  • Review circuit design/schematics/layout, EMI reduction or mitigation
  • Support root cause analysis for field issues
  • Support benchmark activities
  • Develop and test power electronic circuits, digital logic, microcomputer/DSP and analog circuits
  • Design products to meet UL, IEEE, NEC and CSA requirements
  • Design test kits to qualify electronic components, modules for production
  • Design EOL tester for new products
  • Discuss with cross-functional teams to resolve problems
  • Prepare system layout and detail schematic drawings
  • Develop test plans for functional verification of the design

    The minimum requirements:


    • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power electronics
    • 4+ year of experience in electrical and electronics designs, including:

      • Analog/digital mixed circuit design
      • Failure diagnosis and troubleshooting of electronic devices
      • Signal sensing technologies
      • Sensor signal conditioning circuit design and Op-Amp design





        • Highly proficient in PCB design and Altium
        • Highly proficient with using simulation tools (MATLAB or PSIM)
        • Experience in Gate Drive Circuit design for MOSFETs and IGBTs

          Preferred requirements:


          • Working knowledge of ST Microcontrollers, TI DSPs
          • Working knowledge of SiC, Logic IC, High side driver/Low side driver and SMD passive components
          • Working knowledge/experience of Power Inverters
          • Working knowledge of packaging
          • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
          • Self-motivated with the ability to learn and manage multiple tasks
