Position Description:
EMC Compliance Lead Engineer Responsibilities
Working in power device reliability and quality assurance
Providing technical guidance an multiple aspects of Ford ISCs
Working with PCB suppliers as well as internal team on the
solutions for the optimal EMI mitigations at PCB and ISC level
designs.
Working with device and PM suppliers on the data driven proof of
SiC devices.
Develop next-generation electric power conversion systems for
electrified vehicles
Consult on field leading research on power converters (both silicon
and wide bandgap devices)
Provide technical input to other engineers or engineering support
personnel
Monitor international research and identify research trends,
challenges and opportunities Requirements
PhD in Electrical Engineering
More than 20 years of experience in the field
Strong knowledge in the following power electronics areas:
Hands on experience with modeling, simulation, design,
implementation, testing, and debugging power conversion systems
Experience with advanced silicon IGBT technologies, wide bandgap
devices (SiC and GaN), and their applications
Familiar with analog and digital circuit design,
microprocessor-based control circuit o Familiar with gate drive,
passive components, power module packaging, and interface
specifications (electric, mechanical, thermal) o Knowledge in EMI
modeling and analysis, measurement and regulations for power
electronics components and converters
Knowledge in the following areas is desired:
Electric machine/power converter control theory
Thermal management o Physical layout of converters
Manufacturing of power electronics components and power converter
assemblies
Understanding of automotive applications
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Skills Required:
