In this position...
Applicants must possess a strong interest in learning and technical
development with an emphasis on practical Reliability Engineering.
During the course of this assignment, applicants will be exposed to
Black Belt & Statistical tools and methods, several different
commodity components, systems, software and various engineering
groups with an eye towards improved system and component
reliability., Applicants will be required to interface with teams
that include subject matter experts allowing opportunities to
expand their knowledge in these areas to improve design,
verification, and test especially for new emerging technologies and
new product designs. Workload will consist of leading cross
functional groups to scope challenges and drive to robust
reliability concepts/strategy early in the development phase
through to launch. Projects will be targeted to high profile new
products, technology, and launches as well as high profile quality
issues within the VHE organization. The position requires
presentation of status and findings allowing diverse management
exposure.
What you'll do...
Lead and support current model production / design reliability
evaluation to improve Quality metrics (QNPS, R/1000, Warranty and
CPU), Reliability and customer satisfaction metrics.
Lead and support pre-program new technology, product design and
reliability verification including hardware & software to leverage
fundamental reliability strategy and statistical methods to provide
robust product direction.
Provide the Vehicle Hardware Engineering (VHE) organization
statistical and reliability support.
Deliver project presentations to senior management on regarding
design reliability, verification strategy, and vehicle level
robustness.
You'll have...
BS Science degree in a technical field required or equivalent
experience.
Knowledge of statistical reliability concepts is required, and
application experience is preferred.
6-Sigma Black Belt trained, certification preferred but not
required. If not a Certified 6-Sigma Black Belt VHE will facilitate
achieving Black Belt certification within 1 year.
Even better, you may have...
Minimum of 3 years' experience in Product Design or Manufacturing
Engineering with manufacturing processes, component/system
development design, emerging technology development or calibration
processes knowledge.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several
unique tasks simultaneously.
Ability to develop clear working level documents and management
presentations.
Ability to comfortably present to the senior management team. -
Proficiency with using Microsoft Office applications, Minitab,
QlikSense and Alteryx computer software preferred.
Strong Ford+ Behaviors.
Ability and willingness to travel to both Ford and supplier
domestic and foreign locations.
