In this position...
Interface between Ford and NASCAR from a NASCAR Series Program
perspective. Work cross-functionally with VehDyn/Aero/PT/Analytics
groups to develop tools and methods for success on the
racetrack
Periodic travel will be required to NASCAR races and Ford
Performance Tech Center in NC.
What you'll do...
Liaison between Ford and NASCAR as it relates to series rules and
direction of the sport
Interface with the Ford Design Studio to develop NASCAR body
submissions
Support Trackside Tool development (Database/Timing &
Scoring/Analytics) with DV and testing.
Develop spec for features and help test and validate releases
Periodically support trackside efforts with tool
support/rollout/race support at track
Support teams with weekend race report compares and Analytics for
Post-Race Meeting reports
Interface with NASCAR team engineers to identify opportunities for
success using current data while identifying potential available
data sources
You'll have...
Bachelors of Science in Engineering (such as BSME).
3+ year's work experience in an automotive related engineering
capacity.
2+ years of theoretical or applied vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics,
or powertrain theory.
Held an engineering role in a professional racing series
Even better, you may have...
5+ years of work experience in professional racing.
Masters Degree in Engineering
2+ years NASCAR experience in Sprint Cup, Xfinity Series, Truck
Series
Ability to coordinate projects across multiple teams and race
series.
Experience with racecar simulation software packages
Highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills
and a flexible approach to working hours.
SAE competition (BAJA / Formula SAE / Etc.),
suspension/steering/tire design experience, vehicle dynamics
development experience
Experience with Motec, Pi and/or Atlas data acquisition tools
