What you need to have:

A valid driver's and a good driving record

The ability to pass a drug screen

Previous automotive technician experience

State certifications



What you will be responsible for:



Performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with automotive dealer and factory standards. You will also will oversee the work of any automotive apprentice technician assigned to you.



Activities:


Receive repair orders from work screen on computer and retrieve vehicle from service lot.
Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair
Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty, requested by customer, or scrapped by service department.
Examine the vehicle to determine is additional safety or service work is needed.
Advise service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
Documentation of work performed on computer
Road-test vehicles upon completion of repairs to ensure customer satisfaction
Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
Attend necessary factory training and maintain state/manufacturer certifications.
Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean. Keep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership-owned equipment at all times.
