Position Description:

• 
  
• Looking for a practical and execution-driven engineer who is interested in noise and vibration transmission to help improve upon current techniques for assessing the performance of fossil fuel, hybrid, and electric propulsion systems.
  
• We are looking to hire an engineer with strong skills in operational data analysis, transfer path analysis, rigid body dynamics, and acoustics.
  
• In this role, you will drive activities to enable time-based transfer path analysis, perform transient response analysis to assess the response to torsional transients, develop time-based signals for sound and vibration from analytical models, and help to improve the process of information sharing between organizations to support timely studies.
  
• You will work across the organization. Your solutions will empower variety of teams to optimize their work.
  
• You will be required to spend some time in Dearborn, MI to support physical testing and simulator evaluations, but remote work is embraced and fully supported when possible. Hands-on experience is prioritized.
  
  
  Skills Required:
  
  
  • 
    
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Artemis or Testlab and/or multi-body dynamics analysis tools such as Adams; eagerness to learn new tools to expand capability
    
  • Demonstrated capability in successfully driving projects to completion
    
  • Willingness to develop productive working relationships with coworkers to support delivery of goals that may not be perfectly aligned across organizations
    
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead multi-functional efforts.
    
  • Deep understanding of how to build successful products in large-scale environments.
    
    
    Skills Preferred:
    
    
    • 
      
    • Background in automotive systems, in particular propulsion systems or noise and vibration development
      
    • Experience in developing or using analytical methods to improve vehicle noise and vibration performance
      
    • Hands-on experience with performing and correlating objective and subjective vehicle evaluations
      
    • Self-starter who has confirmed experience delivering innovative solutions to engineering problems
      
      
      Experience Preferred:
      
      
      • 
        
      • 2-5 years in noise and vibration-related positions
        
        
        Education Required:
        
        
        • 
          
        • BS in mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering with coursework in dynamics, mechanical vibrations, and acoustics
          
          
          Education Preferred:
          
          
          • 
            
          • MS or PhD with acoustic or vibration focus preferred.
