The Mechanical Project Engineer -will design and develop the mechanical content of quality Power electronics / OBC (onboard charger) products within agreed timescales and budgets according to Company procedures and, when required, to lead the product development from start to SOP. -

  About the Position:
  
  
  • 
    
  • Designs Power electronics / OBC (onboard charger) products that meet specified customer, internal, and profitability requirements according to the procedures
    
  • Leads cross-functional product development teams during the development phase to achieve on-time deliveries and quality sign-off
    
  • Produces thorough and accurate design project documentation that attains the approval of the Group Leader
    
  • Verifies designs and validates products with attentiveness to detail so that any failures to meet requirements are discovered
    
  • Makes and validates design changes that are evaluated for feasibility, cost, and timing; and implemented with care and thoroughness, attaining the approval of the Group Leader
    
  • Provides timely, effective support to the customer's needs so that the customer does not express dissatisfaction
    
  • Provides effective technical support to the satisfaction of manufacturing departments on design matters relating to products being introduced into, or that are already in production
    
  • Ensures full commitment and support for training, succession planning, recruitment, communications, health and safety, housekeeping, and personal discipline
    
  • Review test setup before product testing start and determine test failures

    Requirements: -
    
    
    • 
      
    • 4-Year Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
      
    • Minimum of 3 Years of Relevant Automotive Design Experience
      
    • Minimum 5 Years of Software Programming
      
    • Must Be Authorized to Work in the U.S.
      
    • Knowledge of Automotive Connectors, Heat Dissipation & Water-Cooling Systems -(Thermal Management), PCB to PCB Intern - Connections, Different Assembly Methods, Die-Cast & Plastic Materials is Highly Preferred
      
    • 3D & 2D Design Work Using a CAD (CATIA v5) System and State-of-the-Art Techniques
      
    • Experience in Tolerance Stack Up Calculations (Statistical & Worst-Case Conditions) & Conversant With Simulation Techniques like Mold-Flow, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), Working with Hardware Colleagues for PCB Data Transfers
      
    • Experience with Requirement Analysis (DOORS Preferred) and DFMEA Generation
      
    • Involvement in the Development Process of Electromechanical Products
      
    • Design Under a Similar Type of High Volume and Pressure Environment as Automotive
      
    • May Involve Foreign Travel
