Epitec POSITION:Test Engineer JOB TYPE:W2, Contract LOCATION:Dearborn, MI JOB SUMMARY FOR TEST ENGINEER:

• The Test Engineer in Platform Validation will play a vital part in driving the quality and velocity of software development efforts. The Test Engineer will define and execute tests in weekly iterations, maintain and execute test charters, and create and maintain automated UI tests.
• This specific role will focus on supporting different product teams. The Test Engineer will need to understand the business and technology of each product to ensure success in each product's software delivery. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR TEST ENGINEER:
  • Practice in Lean/Lean Startup thinking and Agile Extreme Programming development methodology
  • Ability to lead the testing efforts across multiple products
  • Ability to write UI automated test across web, mobile or API products and to teach others
  • Ability to work with developers to analyze features and create testing approaches
  • Understanding services-based architecture and web-based APIs running REST protocols
  • Experience with Postman or similar tools for API testing including writing API automation tests
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills for interacting with product team members and ability to teach others
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to manage large workload, while producing quality work in a fast-pace environment with interruptions and deadlines
  • Independent learner who gets up to speed quickly on development technologies and is on the lookout for modern technologies in the industry
  • Proficient with Mac and PC, MS Office, maintaining databases and generating tracking reports SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR TEST ENGINEER:
    • Creates, maintains and executes test charters as the product develops over time
    • Performs exploratory and manual testing on web, mobile and API products
    • Creates, maintains and updates UI automation tests using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Espresso, EarlGrey, or similar tools
    • Utilizes Postman or similar tools to test Services (Web API/Json/REST)
    • Records test results and creates summarized reports
    • Works with product teams to discuss and define automation scope and design, analyze and identify automation test scenarios, and identify test data requirement for automation
    • Supports development of automation test plans and test strategies, provides input where needed
    • Defines product specific testing approach via growing and maintaining product knowledge
    • Aligns testing efforts with an iterative development process
    • Collaborates with team members to refine the product backlog items
    • Reports defects to team members and creates defects within a backlog management tool
    • Contributes to the maintenance of continuous integration pipelines
    • Participates in daily and weekly agile ceremonies
    • Assists with building and grooming of a product backlog
