We not only design and build these facility systems assets but also operate, maintain, and manage these facilities.**Engineer - VEV TPV-Mule Systems Integration Engineer Position Profile****VEV Signoff Engineer Position Summary:**+ Design Prototype Electrical Systems and provide on-site build support for all FNA program prototype vehicles (TPV-Mules).+ Design bridging harnesses, overlays and hardware, to integrate new prototype parts into existing vehicle system and trouble shoot the system to make it functional.+ Self-motivated individual with passion to deliver results, enjoys electrical design, hands on electrical troubleshooting, and problem solving.+ Deliver program gateways / milestones on time to established acceptance criteria.+ Drive to improve the current processes, and develop new best practices.**Position Duties:**+ Integrate new hardware/software (EDS/Wiring, Modules, MUX Signals, Translator Boxes etc.) into prototype vehicles and make it functional.+ Collect new component Device Transmittals from design engineers.+ Select TPV-MULE Surrogate Components to be used for the vehicle build.+ Develop electrical Schematics for TPV-MULE vehicle design.+ Perform compatibility reviews of bridging parts with Production Intent parts / Schematics using the component Design Transmittals.+ Markup or develop Production Intent Schematics/ wire harness drawings to Integrate hardware on TPV-MULE Surrogate vehicles.+ Integrate TPV-MULE Bridging Components into vehicle.+ Develop NETCOM Translator Boxes to gateway CAN messages to correct components.+ Determine complexity of TPV-MULE Breadboard Configurations.+ Identify Surrogate Parts needed for wire harness (Yellowboard) prove out at build site (NMPDC or Roush).+ Verify the Parts list (BOM) for the TPV-MULE Engineering Breadboards is correct, including the surrogate and bridging parts, all needed components, and any Yellowboard surrogate parts.+ Test the TPV-MULE Engineering Breadboards to make sure the design functions as intended, and develop any needed bridging electronics or part reworks.+ Issue change notices (PCN's) for all part reworks, alterations, or substitutions as needed.+ Attend all Start-up, walk-around, build assessment, issues meetings, and PCN review meetings related to TPV-MULE Build as a representative for Electrical and take recommended actions accordingly. Triage issues to the appropriate responsible party.+ Yellowboard - Configure, Flash, Troubleshoot, hardware. Resolve / Elevate build issues.+ Trim & Chassis - Resolve/Elevate all packaging issues, routing issues, missing connections, develop general "how to" instructions for mechanics and technicians.+ Pre-Sign off (85 Hole) - Perform Software updates, Functional checks, identify what needs to be repaired before sign off, and communicate to Plant Supervisors, Build Coordinator, and PMT's.+ Sign off & Pre Delivery - Confirm repairs complete, Sign-off vehicle - final evidence (Final bus queries), Communicate with Pre Delivery plant supervisor for repairs needed/quality sheet resolution, assist with troubleshooting electrical for pre delivery vehicle.+ Flash and configure TPV-MULE module software at build site (NMPDC/Roush).+ Provide Electrical support and troubleshooting of TPV-MULE vehicles in the test fleet after they have left NMPDC/Roush (e.g. A certain vehicle electrical feature isn't working that was supposed to work and it is holding up testing).**In this position, you are a full-time employee of Jacobs. This is NOT a contract position.** You will be eligible for our generous benefit package, including health insurance, dental, vision, generous PTO, paid holidays, 401K, stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.**Here's What You'll Need:****Position Qualifications & Critical Skills - Required:**+ Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering+ Two years of OEM/Tier 1 electrical experience.**Position Qualifications & Critical Skills - Preferred:**+ Electrical Systems and EDS (Wiring) trouble shooting / fault isolation experience.+ Systems Integration knowledge.+ Reading and updating Electrical Schematics and harness drawings.+ Utilizing CAN Tools for troubleshooting and flashing/configuring ECU software.+ EDS (wiring) Design - ability to read/understand prints and relationship to schematics and device transmittals.+ Qualified candidates will work well under pressure, demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and creativity, and be able to quickly evaluate new information and make appropriate decisions.+ Ability to work independently with design engineers, test technicians, skilled trades, and suppliers to resolve issues.+ Ability to work in a garage or lab environment with mechanics, engineers, technicians, technologists, and suppliers.+ Strong communication skills and proficient in utilizing MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) and SharePoint sites.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION****Unusual or Special Physical Requirements of Position**+ Lifting: Parts, cables, and light-weight instrumentation up to 50 lbs, 25%+ Climbing: NA+ Crawling: NA+ Special clothing/equipment (wearing): Slip resistant hardened toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection in designated areas, 100%+ Unusual physical requirements: Sitting (75%), Standing (50%), Bending (25%), stooping (25%)+ High noise level: High noise in some work areas, requiring use of hearing protection, 25%+ Other: NA**Description of Work Environment**+ Inside? Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary. Must have flexibility of work afternoons to cover weekend testing requirements.**Other Essential Functions**Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, health performance evaluation, PHMV exam and background check.Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written.
