  • Duration: 48-Month Contract with Possible Extension
  • Location: Dearborn, MI 48126 What's a typical day as a Workers Compensation Financial Analyst? You'll be:
    • Responsible for financial reporting including actual spend, variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting for Workers' Compensation Department
    • Performing monthly account reconciliations, journal entries and accruals
    • Assisting with the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts
    • Assisting with annual data collection for administrative expense and operational metric benchmarking surveys
    • Assisting with preparation of financial forecasts in conjunction with the strategic planning process
    • Acting as a technical liaison through the completion of ongoing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements
    • Maintaining workers' compensation surety bonds
    • Preparing reports using SQL data
    • Analyzing financial data and providing forecasting support
    • Performing financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
    • Evaluating current and previous financial data
    • Studying business and economic trends
    • Preparing accounting and other required reports and projections based on the analysis performed
    • Providing financial models
    • Providing recommendations for improvement based on trends
    • Coordinating with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts
    • Working closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
    • Evaluating financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
    • Identifying and driving process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards
    • Increasing productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:
      • A Bachelor's in Math, Statistics, Finance, Economics or Accounting (preferred)
      • 3 years of experience in Business Finance or other relevant experience
      • Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases and financial software
      • Proven knowledge of financial forecasting
      • Outstanding reporting, presentation and communication skills
      • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
      • Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions
      • Strong quantitative and analytical competency
      • Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
